I make this dish especially for my 14-month-old son, but you can feed this to the whole family if you like. It’s really delicious and super easy to whip up. You can use any pasta, but I prefer to use something small and bite-sized.
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a small sauce pan. Add carrots and cook for 5 minutes. Add pasta and green peas and cook approximately 10 minutes (or however long the directions for the pasta say). Drain pasta and veggies.
In the same sauce pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour, dry mustard, salt, and pepper and cook for 1 minute or until bubbly. Slowly whisk milk into butter/flour mixture and cook for about 2 minutes until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat and stir in cheese until melted. Return pasta and veggies to the pan and stir until well coated with cheese sauce.
