Easy delicious spaghetti sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1-½ can Tomato Sauce
  • 1 can Tomato Paste
  • 1-½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Oregano
  • 1 dash Salt and Pepper
  • 2 whole Bay Leaves
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar

Preparation

Brown and drain ground beef. Add tomato sauce and paste. Stir in garlic powder, oregano, salt, pepper, bay leaves and brown sugar. Bring to a bubble. Cover and turn to low. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes stirring occasionally.

Remove bay leaves and serve warm. Refrigerate leftovers.

(To make even easier, use the cheapest store sauce and add everything but the tomato sauce and paste.)

I’m making this now and it is delicious! Lucky for me I have lots of empty Prego jars to fill up. This was so easy and delicious I will never ever buy sauce again. Thanks so much for this recipe.

I made this Friday night and it was delicious!! It was after 8pm and after working all week, I was in the mood for a simple, filling dish and this fit the bill. I used 4 small cans of tomato sauce since it was all I had and I tried my new spices from Penzeys Spices (Italian Herb and Red & Green Bell Peppers), otherwise followed the recipe exactly. My fiance loved it from the first bite so that was a huge plus.

I froze the rest for another night when I am not in the mood to cook. Will be making this again! Thanks so much for sharing, Meghan

This is our go to sauce! I used to hate meat sauce, but this recipe changed my mind. I use a little less brown sugar and tend to let it simmer for a bit longer. This is a keeper!
