Description

Comfort food! This is EASY and kids love it! I made this up one night when were in a hurry for dinner and I only had a few items on hand. It made a LOT of food. I was cooking for 5 adults and three kids and we still had leftovers. This dish can easily be cut in half (I’ve done it many times).

Ingredients

  • 2 packages Turkey Kielbasa (roughly 2 Pounds), Cut Lengthwise And Then Sliced Into 1 Inch Thick Pieces
  • 1 whole Medium Onion, Diced
  • 3 cups Hot Water
  • 3 cups Skim Milk
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Mustard
  • 2 boxes Deluxe 2% Milk Macaroni And Cheese Dinners (I Use Kraft Brand, 5-7 Ounce Box), Unprepared
  • 1 package Frozen Broccoli Florets (about 12 Ounces), Cooked

Preparation

Heat a large pot (or Dutch oven) on stove over medium-high heat. Add sliced kielbasa and onion to pot and heat/cook for about five minutes until onions are soft.
Add water, milk, ground mustard and the macaroni (don’t add the sauce packet at this time) to kielbasa and bring to boil. Decrease heat to low and cover. Simmer for 15 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed and the macaroni is tender, stirring often.

Meanwhile, cook broccoli florets according to package directions and drain well.

After 15 minutes, add cheese sauce packets to the macaroni/kielbasa and mix well. Add broccoli and stir together. Simmer over low heat, uncovered, until thickend and heated through, about 3-5 minutes. Turn off heat and let sit for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
