Description

Veggies and sausage combine well with spaghetti sauce, noodles and cheese for a tasty and hearty weeknight dinner! Great with a Caesar salad.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Red Bell Pepper, Diced
  • 1 whole Large Onion, Diced
  • 1-½ cup Fresh Mushrooms
  • ½ pounds Ground Sausage
  • 8 ounces, weight Ziti
  • 26 ounces, weight Can Or Jar Of Spaghetti Sauce
  • ¼ cups Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 3-½ cups Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Combine prepared vegetables and ground sausage in a nonstick skillet and cook over medium heat for 15–20 minutes total. Meanwhile, cook ziti according to package directions.

2. When ziti and meat and veggies are cooked through, drain the ziti and place in a 9×13 baking dish. Add meat and veggies to the pasta and then add the spaghetti sauce, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Stir gently to combine evenly. Top with shredded mozzarella.

3. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes or until cheese has completely melted.
