Description

Fitting for a date night, these filets are slow roasted on the grill, and topped with a decadent mushroom sauce.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE MARINATED STEAKS:
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Kosher Salt
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Grated
  • 1 teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 whole Filet Mignons, 1 Inch Thick
  • ½ cups Pinot Noir
  • _____
  • FOR THE MUSHROOM SAUCE:
  • 10 whole Mini Portabellos, Sliced
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter
  • ¼ cups Heavy Cream
  • ½ teaspoons Kosher Salt

Preparation

1. To prepare the marinade, combine the oil, kosher salt, garlic, and ground pepper.

2. Spread oil mixture over the tops of the steaks.

3. Drizzle wine over steaks and allow to marinate for at least three hours.

4. Preheat a gas grill. Temperature should be at least 500 degrees.

5. Sear steaks over high heat for two minutes per side.

6. Place steaks on the top rack of the grill and allow to roast until medium-rare or your desired doneness (160 degrees for medium).

7. Allow steaks to rest for ten minutes.

8. To prepare the sauce, saute sliced mini portabellos in butter over high heat for two minutes, or until browned. Add cream, season to taste and pour over steaks.
