Description

Comfort food to the max.

Ingredients

  • 5 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 pound Cube Steak
  • Flour (for Dredging)
  • 2 cups Mushrooms, Sliced
  • 1  Onion, Sliced
  • 3 cups Water
  • 3 packages (about 1 Oz. Packet) Gravy Mix, Any 3 You Like
  • Salt And Pepper

Preparation

Heat oil in skillet. Dredge cube steaks in flour. Brown steaks on both sides. Place in slow cooker. Top with mushrooms, onion, water, and gravy packets. Season with salt and pepper. Cook on low for 7 hours.

I made this for dinner tonight. WONDERFUL! The gravy is so rich and yummy! I used two packets of brown gravy mix and one jar of Heinz gravy, and it was perfect with mashed potatoes!

This is one of my favorites — serve with mashed potatoes, biscuits and your favorite veggie, and you’ve got a real stick-to-your-ribs, down home meal. I also sometimes use three jars of Heinz gravy — I like to do one jar of mushroom and two jars of beef.
