Description

Chicken baked in a creamy sauce with savory croutons pretending to be a dressing/stuffing.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 2 whole Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts, Split
  • 2 dashes Mrs Dash Seasoning, Pepper And Oregano, For Sprinkling On The Chicken
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 package Seasoned Croutons, 5 Ounce Package (get The BIG Croutons Not The Little Ones)
  • 1 can (10 Oz. Size) Cream Of Chicken Soup
  • ¾ cups Chicken Broth

Preparation

Heat a large skillet on medium heat and add a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil. Season the chicken with the pepper, Mrs. Dash and the oregano. Dredge the chicken in the flour. Fry in the hot oil until golden brown on each side (you don’t have to cook them all the way through – you’ll cook them more in a minute).

Place the croutons in a lightly greased deep 3 quart baking dish. I used multi-grain croutons, I thought they would hold up better. They need to be the BIG sized croutons too, the little ones won’t work. Arrange the chicken on top of the croutons. Whisk together the Cream of Chicken soup and the chicken broth and pour over the chicken and croutons.

Bake uncovered at 375F for 45 minutes or until the chicken is fork tender.
