Description

The combination of Mexican flavors in my usual favorite turkey chili is amazing. Love that the crockpot does all the work, although this one can definitely be made on the stove top, too.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Medium Sized Onion, Chopped
  • 1 can (16 Oz. Size) Black Beans
  • 1 can (16 Oz. Size) Kidney Beans
  • 10 ounces, weight Frozen Corn
  • 2 cans (14.5 Oz. Size) Diced Tomatoes With Chilies
  • 1 can (8 Oz. Size) Tomato Sauce Of Your Choice
  • 1 Tablespoon Cumin
  • 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
  • ½ packages (about 1 Oz. Packet) Taco Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1-½ pound Ground Turkey Meat
  • ¼ cups Chopped Green Onions, For Topping (optional)
  • 1 dash Low-fat Mexican Cheese, For Topping (optional)

Preparation

1. Place the onion, beans, corn (still frozen), diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, cumin, chili powder, and taco seasoning in your slow cooker. Mix together.
2. Season the turkey meat with garlic powder and ground black pepper on both sides and place on top of the bean mixture.
3. Cook on low for about 10 hours or on high for 6 hours.
4. Serve and top with scallions and low fat cheese (optional).

Very good and easy. Put on before leaving for a baseball game and done when we finally got home. Made as stated.

This recipe has my two favorite things: Easy and YUMMY! I was out of cumin, so I used the entire packet of the Taco Seasoning. It worked great. :)

Super easy and tasty. I drained and rinsed my beans but put the tomato liquid in the pot. I also mixed the meat in and broke it up about half way through the cooking time. This one is a keeper.

This is a perfect recipe for a busy day. I love that there is very little required to prepare this dish. It’s healthy and delicious. I used white kidney beans because that’s what was on hand otherwise, I followed as is.
