Description

This delicious honey sesame chicken is a cinch to whip up and cooks itself. What could be better?

Ingredients

  • 4  Chicken Breasts
  • ½ cups Diced Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • ½ cups Honey
  • ¼ cups Ketchup
  • ¾ cups Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Sesame Oil (or Olive Oil)
  • ¼ teaspoons Crushed Red Pepper
  • 4 teaspoons Cornstarch
  • ⅓ cups Water
  • Cooked Rice, To Serve
  • 2 teaspoons Sesame Seeds
  • 3  Green Onions, Chopped

Preparation

Place the chicken in the crockpot. In a mixing bowl, combine the onions, garlic, honey, ketchup, soy sauce, oil and red pepper. Pour this mixture over the chicken and cook for 6-8 hours on low or 3-4 on high (depending on your crockpot, you may need more or less time).

About 30 minutes before eating, remove the chicken from the crockpot and place on a cutting board. Combine the cornstarch and water in a small bowl or cup. Mix well and pour into the sauce in the crockpot. Stir well and come back and stir it every few minutes until it is thick. Cut or break apart the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Stir the chicken back into the thickened sauce.

Serve the chicken over rice and top with sesame seeds and green onions.

I made this and we all loved it. I left out the red pepper flakes for my kids’ sake.
