My husband barely had the spoon in his mouth and he pronounced it was the best soup he had ever had! We loved it and it was so easy to make. I halved the recipe so we each would have a serving for 2 nights, but one chicken breast didn’t seem like enough, so I did 2 small ones. We liked it with the extra chicken.
Does anyone know if this soup freezes well? I’d love to make the full batch and freeze some if it keeps well.

I made this tonight with my boyfriend, and though a bit of a lengthy process to get it finished, it was totally worth it…. I do recommend adding some corn for an extra crunch.

This recipe is wonderful! Just the right amount of flavor and even better the next day after the chicken soaks up all that wonderful flavor! You have amazing recipes and cannot wait to try more of them. This will probably always be my favorite!

Absolutely DELICIOUS!!! To quote my husband, “This is the best soup you’ve ever made!” He took left-overs for lunch the next day and I froze the rest for another day.

This is now my favorite soup. So easy and so good. Perfect for cold, rainy days.

I have made this a handful of times and it always turns out so good! When time is short, I will pick up a rotisserie chicken from the store, shred that up, and it tastes just as good. One thing that I add every time: corn. Delicious!

I made this for our family’s first “Annual Christmas Eve Soup Fest”. It was wonderful. I’m not a “cook” but after the family had a bowl I sure felt like one! This is a very easy soup to prepare and it’s very filling. I will definetly make it again.

Fantastic and so comforting. It made my house smell glorious. I added celery and a cup of corn – a definite hit and I will be doing it again.

The flavors were so delicious. We loved it. Since we don’t care for corn tortillas, we skipped them and made cornbread to go with the soup. Yum.

This sounds like the perfect lunch on -7 degree day here in South Dakota. Need something to warm up and this sounds hot and spicy. I think I even have all of the ingredients!

We had this today and loved it. I did make two small changes. We did not have any corn tortillas so we put crushed tortilla chips in our bowls which was great. I also added 1 cup of frozen corn. We loved it and will be making it again.

I am in search of a good tortilla soup recipe. I haven’t found one so far that I have been completely happy with. Can’t wait to try this one!

So how do the tortilla strips hold up the second day? Not too soggy to serve as leftovers, I hope?!?!

I made this last night…my husband said, “I believe this is the best soup you’ve ever made.” I had left-overs because it’s just the two of us. I’m going to try freezing it for later use. Has anyone done this? This is definitely a KEEPER, thanks for the recipe!

Yummy! I only used about 2 cups of water, and since my husband is not a bean eater, I stirred in a can of refried beans instead of the black beans (if he noticed, he didn’t say
_The soup was thicker, and we liked it that way.

I made this soup yesterday and it was a big hit with the crowd. Luckily I kind of doubled it so there are leftovers for my husband and I. I added a can of cheese soup to it for something new and it was delicious. Thanks for sharing the recipe !!

I chose this because I had a can of Rotel tomatoes with green chilies and this recipe had some of everything I liked about the others I checked. It was probably the most delicious tortilla soup I’ve had east of Taos. I used a rotisserie chicken to make the broth and used about half the chicken. Fabulous. Absolutely nothing to change here. Can’t wait for the leftovers.
