Description

A quick dinner that my family loves! Chicken, cream cheese and seasoning in lovely puff pastry parcels!

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Chicken
  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese
  • 1 envelope (about 1 Oz. Packet) Seasoning (Ranch Dressing, Golden Vegetable Soup, Etc.)
  • 1 box (about 11 Oz. Size) Puff Pastry

Preparation

Heat oven to 350ºF
.
Cook the chicken (you can use chicken that’s already cooked). I either boil it or cook it in the oven. Let it cool until you are able to shred it. Combine chicken, cream cheese and seasoning in a bowl. Roll out puff pastry and cut into triangles. Put a tablespoon of the chicken/cream cheese mix in each triangle. Gather the points of the triangle and pinch each seam shut, as well as the top.

Place on a baking tray and cook 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.

My man likes finger food…anything that’s ‘a little unit’. So I gave these a whirl. I substituted goat cheese for the cream cheese (that’s what I had on hand). These were easy and tasty. The only thing I would change is the baking temperature. I didn’t let them cook long enough, apparently, and they didn’t poof as much as they should have. The instructions on the pastry’s packaging recommended baking at 400 degrees, which is what I will try next time. Puff pastry apparently needs a good amount of heat to generate steam quickly and puff the pastry. Other than that, this recipe is a keeper! Good for dinner or as an appetizer.
