Description

Creamy, flavorful, and wrapped in crescent rolls. What could be better for an easy weeknight family-pleasing meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Chicken Breast, Cooked And Shredded
  • 4 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Softened
  • ¼ cups Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Minced Onion
  • Garlic Powder
  • Kosher Salt
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 package Refrigerated Crescent Rolls, 8 Ounce Tube
  • 1 Tablespoon Melted Butter
  • ¼ cups Bread Crumbs
  • ¼ cups Finely Chopped Pecans

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese and milk using an electric mixer until smooth. Add in minced onion, and garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste. Stir in chicken.

Now, with your opened tube of crescent rolls, separate it in half at the perforated seam in the middle. Then roll each half out and separate in half again so you have 4 rectangles.

Starting with one rectangle, pinch seams together at the diagonal so it is one piece of dough that will not break apart. Place 1/4 of the chicken mixture in the middle of the rectangle and fold up all sides, pinching together so you have a ball. Repeat with remaining 3 rectangles.

Mix together bread crumbs and pecans in a shallow bowl.
Brush crescent balls with melted butter and roll in bread crumb and pecan mixture.

Place on a baking sheet or stone and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

First off I’d like to say I like the simple ingredients. I added peas and carrots from a can and nixed the onion. The cream mixture was a little weird but good. Once I started to fold up the bundles they began to get mushy and the insides began to spill out. My husband liked them but they were a little difficult to make. I would probably use biscuits next time and just stuff them with the ingredients. These were also a little plain, so I would add a little more seasonings. They had a nice texture.
