Description

If you’re familiar with Cracker Barrel you may know their Butter Baked Chicken. This is my Mom’s recipe and a family favorite. Comfort food at its best!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Butter, Melted
  • 1-½ cup All-purpose Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Pepper
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1 can (12 Oz. Size) Evaporated Milk, Divided
  • 4  Chicken Breast, Bone-in, Skin-on
  • 1 can (10 3/4 Oz. Size) Cream Of Chicken Soup

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 F. Pour melted butter into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and set the dish aside.

In a shallow bowl or on some waxed paper, combine the flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder.

In a separate bowl add 1/2 cup evaporated milk. Coat the chicken pieces with the milk then dredge in seasoned flour. Place chicken in the prepared baking dish, skin side up. Bake, uncovered, for 35-40 minutes. Remove from oven and turn chicken over.

In a medium bowl combine the remaining evaporated milk and the can of cream of chicken soup. Stir until well combined. Pour over chicken and return baking dish to the oven for an additional 30-35 minutes.

When done, remove chicken from pan onto your serving plates. Whisk the gravy that remains in the baking dish. Pour gravy over chicken and put remaining gravy in a gravy boat for guests to serve themselves.
