Description

Quick, easy, and delicious. This recipe is perfect for serving large groups for holidays, and the leftovers make delicious sandwiches!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Bone-in Picnic Ham, Find One Approximately The Size Of Your Crock Pot
  • 1 package Brown Sugar (1 Pound, You Won't Use It All)
  • 1 cup White Wine
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 sprig Rosemary

Preparation

First, prepare the ham. Cut off and discard the excess fat, rinse, and dry with paper towels. Check to see if it fits in your crock pot. If it doesn’t, cut it to fit. It doesn’t need to look pretty, it’s going to fall apart by the end anyway. Remove the ham from the crockpot.

Spread a layer of brown sugar across the bottom of the crockpot. The layer should be about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.

Return the ham to the crockpot. Rub brown sugar over all surfaces of the ham.

Add the wine, lemon juice, and rosemary sprig.

Cook on low for 8 hours. Enjoy!

Wow, this was good! it just fell off the bone. I don’t feel I can offer a true review as I didn’t follow the recipe. I was out of everything but the brown sugar and ham. So yes, I just cooked a ham in just brown sugar. And I’m not afraid to admit that. but the best part, is that I found out you can cook a ham in the crock pot. Love that! I don’t think it would have ever occurred to me to do that without this recipe. Thanks for the recipe and next time I’ll try to have some white wine and lemon juice on hand too. ;)

Very good and easy to make. Easy on the rosemary. Leftovers work great for a variety of things, too!
