Description

Yep. You can make your own homemade calzone dough in your breadmaker using this yummy recipe. Add whatever fillings you like after that and make it your own. These calzones are DELISH!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE DOUGH:
  • 1-½ cup Water
  • 3 cups Bread Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Oregano
  • ½ teaspoons Basil
  • ½ teaspoons Italian Seasonings
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1-½ teaspoon White Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Powdered Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Active Dry Yeast
  • FOR THE FILLING:
  • 4 ounces, weight Pepperoni, Chopped
  • 4 ounces, weight Italian Sausage, Cooked
  • 1-½ cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • ¾ cubes Pizza Sauce (or More If Your Prefer More Sauce)
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, Melted

Preparation

1. Start by pouring the water in your bread machine first, then follow with the dry ingredients (flour, seasonings, sugar, powdered milk, then finally the yeast).
2. Set your bread machine on the dough cycle, which is #9 on my bread machine. Press start.
3. To prepare the filling, chop up your pepperoni and any other toppings you want to put in the calzones. You can add any and all toppings that you like!
4. Mix pepperoni, Italian sausage, cheese and any other added toppings together in a bowl.
5. After the dough cycle is complete, take the dough out of the bread machine and roll out to a 10×16 rectangle.
6. Then put the dough onto a greased cookie sheet.
7. Next pour the sauce right down the center of the dough, leaving an inch at the top and an inch at the bottom with no sauce. Sprinkle your toppings on top of that.
8. Next cut 1 1/2 inch strips up and down both sides of the dough, stopping within 1/2 inch of the toppings.
9. Start folding the strips up one by one so that they meet at the top then pinch them together at the top.
10. Brush melted butter on top after it is completely closed. Bake at 350ºF for approximately 35 minutes.
