Description

Boodie is the name my children chose for my mother. She made this noodle and hamburger recipe as a special “treat” for them and we still make it for the great grand kids.

Ingredients

  • ½ whole Medium Sized Onion, Chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Olive Oil
  • ¾ pounds Hamburger Meat
  • ¼ teaspoons Celery Salt
  • 2 cans (15 Oz. Size) Spaghetti-o's

Preparation

In a medium fry pan put in the chopped onion. You’ll need about 1/4 cup or to taste. I use a whole medium sized onion. Fry over medium heat for a few minutes in a teaspoon of oil. Add hamburger meat and celery salt and fry while breaking up into small pieces. When hamburger is done drain off excess fat. Add the Spaghetti-o’s and stir all together. I turn the heat off at this point and let it sit for a while to let flavors lend then re-heat and serve with sliced bread and butter. Mother used to make it with Franco-American spagetti in a can and she’d cut the spagetti up with a knife while it was in the can but the Spaghetti-o’s are soo much easier.

My mother made this with the regular canned spaghetti, not the o’s. We called it “spaghetti stuff.” Still love it 40 years later!

I made these for my son last night. He loved them and so did I. They are really tasty. I will definitely make these again.
