Description

Your favorite sandwich made into a delicious pizza!

Ingredients

  • 3  Large Tomatoes, Thinly Sliced
  • 1 pound Bacon
  • 1 whole Fresh Or Store-bought Pizza Dough
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 3 cups Romaine Lettuce, Sliced Into Thin Shreds
  • ½ cups Mayonnaise
  • Salt And Pepper

Preparation

Preheat oven to 475ºF.

Place sliced tomatoes into a colander and sprinkle with salt. Let sit 10-15 minutes. This will dry the tomatoes out and prevent them from making the pizza dough soggy while baking.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add bacon strips. Cook until brown and crispy. Remove to a plate lined with a paper towel. When cool, break bacon into bits (I crush the bacon strips in my hands while wrapped in the paper towels).

Meanwhile, press the dough ball into a flat circle on a pizza stone or an oiled baking sheet. Place tomato slices on dough, starting by making a circle around the outer edge and working in. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of tomatoes. Top the cheese with the bacon crumbles.

Using a pastry brush or your fingers, rub the olive oil along the outside crust. Then sprinkle oil with sea salt. This makes the crust tasty and enjoyable once baked!

Bake pizza for 15-20 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and cooked through. While pizza is baking, combine shredded lettuce with the mayonnaise. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Remove pizza from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Arrange lettuce mixture on top of cooked pizza. Slice and serve!
