Description

No seasoning packet needed. You can make this yourself in minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • ¼ cups Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove Garlic, Minced
  • 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • ½ teaspoons Seasoned Salt
  • Mexican Hot Sauce, To Taste
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch Mixed With Below Amount Of Water
  • ½ cups Water
  • Taco Shells And Toppings Of Your Choice, For Serving

Preparation

Preheat a large skillet to medium heat. Add the beef, onion and garlic and heat for 5 minutes, breaking the meat up as you go.

When the beef is about half cooked, add the chili powder, cumin, seasoned salt, and as much hot sauce as you’d like. Stir the spices into the meat mixture. Allow the beef to finish cooking through, about 3 minutes more.

Combine the cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Pour the cornstarch mixture into the beef and allow the mixture to bubble for 2 minutes, stirring to form a light sauce. If the liquid evaporates before you’re ready to serve, add more water 2 tablespoons at a time.

Taste the meat, and add more salt or hot sauce if you’d like.

Serve in taco shells, flour tortillas, with chips, or as part of a salad. The options are endless!

Loved this! I’ve been looking for a simple taco seasoning recipe to replace the packet, and this is the best I’ve tried. Thanks!
