Description

I love crock pot recipes. My picky eater kids love this served over noodles and I love having a hearty dinner ready with minimum of effort. Getting to smell it cooking all day without heating up the kitchen is a wonderful side benefit.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Beef Round Steak
  • ½ cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Pepper
  • ½ teaspoons Dry Mustard
  • 1 whole Onion, Sliced Thin And Separated Into Rings
  • ½ pounds Mushrooms, Sliced Or 8 Oz Canned Sliced Mushrooms, Drained
  • 10 ounces, fluid Beef Broth
  • ¼ cups Dry White Wine
  • 1-½ cup Sour Cream Or Greek Yogurt
  • ¼ cups Flour
  • Prepared Noodles Of Choice

Preparation

Cut meat into 1/2 inch by 3 inch strips. Combine the 1/2 cup flour, salt, pepper and dry mustard then use this mixture to coat the steak strips. Combine the steak, onions and mushrooms, broth and wine in the crock pot, stir well, cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.

Before serving combine sour cream or yogurt with 1/4 cup of flour and stir into the meat mixture. Let it heat up to thicken a bit and then serve over noodles.

Since you didn’t answer my question, I did brown the meat first and instead of the wine, I used cream of mushroom soup!

Great recipe, tasted awesome.

This was good but too much sour cream for my taste. I think if I make again I’ll use half sour cream half yogurt and cut it to 1 cup. I served with brocolli.

I made this last night and it was lovely. I slept too late to get it in the crockpot before work so I made it in a dutch oven and cooked for about an hour and a half and it was great. Thanks for sharing!
