Description

This is a delicious recipe we make for church potlucks or family gatherings. I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE MEATBALLS:
  • 4 pounds Ground Hamburger, Lean
  • 1-½ cup Evaporated Milk
  • 2 cups Old Fashioned Oats
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 cup Onion, Chopped
  • 2 teaspoons Chili Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Pepper
  • FOR THE SAUCE:
  • 2 cups Ketchup
  • 2 cups Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Onion, Minced
  • 2 Tablespoons Liquid Smoke
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

In a large bowl, mix together hamburger, evaporated milk, old fashioned oats, eggs, onion, chili powder, salt, garlic powder, and pepper with a wooden spoon or hands. Shape into walnut-sized balls. Place in a greased oblong pan.

In a medium bowl, combine sauce ingredients: ketchup, brown sugar, minced onion, liquid smoke, and garlic powder. Pour sauce over meatballs.

Bake covered for 1 hour.

One of our favorite staples! It also freezes well and is my go to meal to take to families with a new baby, sick, etc.

These were great! I subbed bread crumbs for oats and half & half for the evaporated milk. I was trying to avoid going to the grocery storee. Even the picky eater gobbled them up.
