Once you try this cheesy baked ziti, you’ll find yourself craving it again and again. Ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan combined together to create a feast for your taste buds!

Ingredients

  • 1 package (16 Oz. Size) Ziti Pasta
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1  Large Onion, Chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 can (28 Oz. Size) Crushed Tomatoes With Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • ⅓ cups Fresh Basil Leaves, Finely Chopped
  • 2 cups Ricotta Cheese, Divided
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, Divided
  • ½ cups Grated Parmesan Cheese, Divided
  • 1  Egg
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste

Preparation

Cook ziti pasta according to package instructions. Drain, rinse, and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onions and garlic for 3 minutes. Add tomatoes with all the juice, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper, and basil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring, for about 20 minutes. Let cool and set aside.

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Combine 1 cup ricotta, 1/2 cup mozzarella, and 1/4 cup Parmesan in a bowl. Add egg and mix well. Season with the salt and pepper. Add about 1 1/2 cups of the tomato sauce we made and add the cooked pasta. Toss to coat.

Add half of the coated pasta to the baking dish and dot the surface with 1/2 cup ricotta cheese. Add the rest of the pasta and sauce on top. Top with the remaining ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan.

Bake for about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with some chopped basil and serve.
