Description

My daughter and I do Friday Night Pizza and a Movie every week. We made this recipe up last night! Good for breakfast the next morning too!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 package Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 2-½ cups All-purpose Flour
  • 2 cups Pizza Sauce, Approximately
  • 1 pound Hamburger
  • 6 slices Bacon
  • 1 cup Dill Pickles, Chopped
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese, Grated

Preparation

Pre heat oven to 425 degrees.

Heat water in microwave to 115 degrees. Pour water into a small bowl and add yeast, sugar, salt and vegetable oil. Stir until combined and let rest about 5 minutes, until it turns foamy. Sift flour into a mixing bowl. Add yeast mixture and mix to combine. Cover and let set while preparing the next ingredients.

Brown hamburger and drain. Slice bacon into small pieces and cook in a skillet. Drain bacon on a paper towel.

Prepare pizza pan(s). This crust will cover one 11×15-inch pan or two 14-inch pizza pans. Grease pan(s) with shortening or butter and sprinkle with corn meal.

Once dough has rested and other ingredients are ready, you can assemble your pizza.

Stretch, press and pat pizza crust onto desired pans. Spread on pizza sauce. Sprinkle with hamburger and bacon. Add pickles – as many as you like. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.

Bake pizza in oven for 10 minutes. Rotate pan and bake another 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let set for about 5 minutes. Slice and enjoy!
