Description

Pork tenderloin IS a healthy meat choice! Many people avoid pork because they are not sure how to cook it (aside from bacon and ham, of course). But a lean cut of pork (the tenderloin) can be a great meat choice! A 3.5 ounce serving (think palm of your hand size) has only slightly more saturated fat than a skinless chicken breast.

Be sure that the internal temperature of the pork reaches 160 degrees to ensure food safety!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Balsamic Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons Pure Maple Syrup
  • 3 Tablespoons Yellow Mustard
  • 3 Tablespoons Garlic Salt, Divided
  • 1 pound Lean Cut Pork Tenderloin
  • ⅓ cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Ground Mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

Preparation

1. Mix vinegar, syrup, yellow mustard, and 1 tablespoon garlic salt for marinade. Place tenderloin in marinade and refrigerate for at least 3 hours (aim for a full day if you have time).

2. Mix the rub: brown sugar, ground mustard, paprika, black pepper, crushed red pepper, and remaining 2 tablespoons garlic salt.

3. Preheat grill. Roll tenderloin in the rub and rub in spices. Grill tenderloin until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees (about 30 minutes on medium heat).

I tried this! We all loved it. I held back 1/2 amount of the dry mustard for the rub, but I would have liked it as well with more. It was still yum even though I had to do it under a low broil in the oven instead of a grill since I don’t have one that works. I marinaded it about 18 hrs., and I used a fresh-pressed clove of garlic and salt of undetermined amount instead of the garlic powder. I recommend!!!

My husband and I loved this. Perfect amount of spiciness for us! I will definitely make this again.

This was really good. I served it with the pear salad shown in the picture. I always thought I was a weenie when it came to spice, but I didn’t think it was too spicey.

Great flavor, but it was pretty spicy, next time I would cut back on the black pepper and red pepper flakes, me any my husband both enjoy spicy food, but it was too spicy to give to our toddler son. Very moist and great flavor though.

This was a nice recipe, but I’ll admit a little spicier than I expected! However, the husband loved so I reckon we’ll do it again sometime. I pretty much fixed as the recipe calls and it wasn’t hard to do.

I fixed this tonight as written, spicy flavor, but outstanding!!!! My wonderful man grilled it to perfection. Serve with mashed potatoes, salad and spinach. Enjoy.
