Description

Simple tuna salad with Asian flavors like wasabi, sesame, ginger and soy sauce. Quick and simple and hugely flavorful.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (5 Oz. Size) Chunk Light Tuna In Water, Drained
  • 1 Tablespoon Wasabi Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tablespoon Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • ¼ cups Water Chestnuts, Chopped
  • 2 teaspoons Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Seeds, Divided
  • ½ teaspoons Honey
  • ½ teaspoons Fresh Chives, Chopped
  • ¼ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoons Sriracha Sauce
  • 2 slices Sandwich Bread

Preparation

In a medium bowl, break up the tuna with a fork. Add the mayonnaise, sesame oil, lemon juice, water chestnuts, soy sauce, ginger, half of the sesame seeds, honey, chives, garlic, pepper and Sriracha. Stir until combined.

Serve on sandwich bread and garnish with additional sesame seeds.

Notes:
If you can’t find wasabi mayonnaise, simply use regular mayo, Greek yogurt or sour cream and add a small amount of wasabi to taste.
I also ate this with a spoon out of the bowl and it was fantastic. I think it would be perfect for serving with veggies, in lettuce wraps, on tortillas or with crackers or pita chips.
