Description

Cream sauce with chicken that will make your house smell like a popular Italian restaurant.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese With Chives
  • 1 pound Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 2 packages (about 3/4 Oz. Packet) Dry Italian Dressing Mix
  • 2 cans (10.75 Oz. Can) Golden Mushrrom Soup
  • 1-½ cup Any White Wine, Or As Needed
  • 1 pound Pasta

Preparation

Set out cream cheese. This stuff is much easier to work with at room temperature.

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

Cut chicken into bite size pieces and arrange in a single layer in a 9×13 baking dish.

Melt butter over medium heat. Add dressing mix and let dissolve for a few minutes. Add soup and cream cheese. Mix well. Add wine, starting with one cup. If you like your sauce a little thinner, add more. If not, stick with one cup. Make sure it’s heated through and well combined.

Pour sauce over the cut up chicken in a baking dish. Bake for 1 hour.

Make pasta so it will be done at the same time as the chicken/sauce mixture. Serve pasta topped with the chicken and sauce.

This goes good with some steamed broccoli or mushrooms, and don’t forget bread. You will almost want to lick your plate and get every bit of the sauce off, but using bread looks a little bit classier.

Your house should smell absoultely wonderful by now.

I’ve been making this for years, and everyone who tries it wants the recipe. Yes, it’s very fattening, so I don’t make it often. But SO good, and flavorful- a perfect dish for company. :) I use chicken broth, instead of wine, and cook it on low in the crockpot for about 6 hours.

Really yummy! I will definitely make this again because it was so good and super easy. I used the entire 1 1/2 cup of liquid and glad I did. Although the sauce looked soupy when I poured it over the chicken, after it baked it thickened up nicely. Also had to use some pasta water to loosen the sauce up a bit once I mixed it with the pasta.
