Description

Spicy mix of baked chickpeas and nuts!

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 Oz. Size) Chickpeas, Drained
  • 4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1-½ cup Shelled Pistachios
  • 1-½ cup Almonds
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Chile Powder

Preparation

Drain the chickpeas, pour them on a rimmed baking sheet and toss them with 1 Tablespoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Then add the rest of the nuts, oil and spices, toss and bake at 375 for another 10 minutes.

Add more or less spice according to your preferences. The chickpeas should be very crunchy, almost hollow.

I made this tonight for a movie snack. I left out the pistachios and almonds since I was really looking for a roasted chickpea recipe. This was a hit! Everyone loved it.
