Description

This is far, far away from the canned stuff. So easy and full of flavor! Make it ahead and freeze it for the holidays.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (12 Oz. Bag) Fresh Cranberries
  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1-½ Tablespoon Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
  • ½ teaspoons Orange Zest

Preparation

Bring water and sugar to a boil in a saucepan. Add cranberries, orange juice and orange zest. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring while it reduces. Pour sauce into a bowl and allow to cool to room temperature.

This will freeze well. You can make it ahead for the holidays. Just remember to remove it from the freezer, and store it in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before it is served.

Had to say I love this recipe, and will make it today. But I ABSOLUTELY love your Polish Pottery Bowl. I have that exact same pattern!!!!!!

Just made a batch of this to freeze for Thanksgiving and it tasted delicious! I did use 1/2 c. water and 1/2 c. no sugar added cranberry juice since I had some in the pantry — it turned out well. Thanks so much for the easy recipe & I love Polish pottery too!

LOVE the addition of orange to this easy and traditional dish! I’ll never make it without an orange again!
