Description

A holiday-inspired Jell-O poke cake perfect for Halloween.

Ingredients

  • 18 ounces, weight Fudge Marble Cake Mix
  • Additional Required Ingredients Specified In Mix Package (typically Water, Eggs And Oil)
  • 3 ounces, weight Orange Gelatin/Jello Mix
  • 1 cup Boiling Water
  • 1 cup Cold Water
  • 1 stick Butter, Softened
  • 3-½ cups Confectioners Sugar
  • ⅓ cups Baking Cocoa
  • ¼ cups Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Candy Corns Or Harvest Mix, For Garnish
  • Halloween Sprinkles, For Garnish

Preparation

Prepare and bake cake according to package directions (you’ll typically need water, eggs, and oil, as directed in mix package), using a greased 13-inch x 9-inch baking pan. Cool on a wire rack for 1 hour. In a small bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water; stir in cold water.

With a meat fork or wooden skewer, poke holes in the cake about 2 inches apart. Slowly pour gelatin over the cake. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.

For the frosting, in a small bowl, cream butter until fluffy. Beat in the confectioners’ sugar, cocoa, milk and vanilla until smooth. Spread over the cake; top with candy pumpkins, candy corns and sprinkles. Cover and refrigerate until serving.

the gelatin in the ingredients list should not state “fluid”—-it gets mixed later with the water. this could be confusing. nice recipe that I will try soon.
