Description

Ditch the canned stuff this Thanksgiving for an easy 15-minute homemade cranberry sauce.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces, weight Fresh Cranberries
  • ½ cups Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
  • ½ cups Water
  • ¾ cups Sugar

Preparation

Makes 2 1/2 cups.

1. Rinse cranberries. Place in a saucepan with orange juice, water, and sugar. Stir.
2. On medium-high heat, cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cranberries will burst, making a festive sound. The sauce will thicken while you joyfully dance around the kitchen, celebrating the fact that this took no time at all.
3. Serve cold or at room temperature. Garnish with orange zest if you wish.

Make 2-3 days ahead for added sanity on Thanksgiving day.

I just made pretty much the same recipe, and it was really quick, easy, and yummy! I used all orange juice instead of water.

Very Nice! I love how simple and delicious this is. The fresh squeezed o.j. is especially nice. I might add just a wee bit more sugar next time but I like my cranberry sauce a little more on the sweet side.

Made this twice at Christmas time and received several compliments. I added half a pomegranate to it after removing the cranberries from the stove. Delish!

I made this for Thanksgiving and it was such a hit that I’m making it again for Christmas dinner. One tip…it tastes better the next day, so I plan on making it ahead. Thanks for such an easy, delicious recipe!
