Combine sugar, milk, butter and salt in a large sauce pan. Bring to a full rolling boil and let boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, chocolate chips, marshmallows and nuts. Pour into an 8×8 dish lined with waxed paper or foil and buttered. Refrigerate until firm. Cut into 1- or 2-inch squares.
