Description

So you’re in charge of bringing dessert to this year’s 4th picnic and can’t decide what to bring? Marshmallow and fruit skewers are easy and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces, weight Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 12 whole Large Jet-Puffed Marshmallows
  • 1 cup Graham Cracker Crumbs (store-bought)
  • 1 pint Strawberries, Hulled And Rinsed
  • ½ cups Blueberries, Rinsed
  • Wooden Skewers Or Popsicle Sticks, For Assembly

Preparation

Begin by melting your chocolate chips. Create a double boiler by placing a heat-safe bowl on top of a saucepan (first fill saucepan with about an inch water and bring it barely to a simmer). Make sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water. Add the chocolate to the bowl and stir occasionally until all of the chocolate is melted. Remove from heat.

Put your graham cracker crumbs in a shallow bowl and set the pan of chocolate next to it.

Take your marshmallows and dip them into the melted chocolate, only going about halfway down (this can also be done by attaching the marshmallows to skewers or lollipop sticks so your hands don’t get messy). Roll the now halfway coated marshmallows in the graham cracker crumbs then place on a piece of parchment paper. Repeat this step for the rest of the marshmallows. Let them dry and harden completely. At this point, you may want to consider transferring to the refrigerator to speed up the hardening process.

Once the chocolate is hardened you can start assembling your skewers. This can be done in any way you choose. Skewer a total of 3 marshmallows, 3-4 strawberries, and 8-10 blueberries. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 12 hours until you are ready to serve. Enjoy!
