Description

Wicked Hot Chocolate. Say what? It’s not for everyone but I thought it was killer. What’s so special about it? Well, let’s just say the secret ingredient is cayenne pepper! I know. Crazy, right? It almost tastes like chocolate-covered hot tamales. Have I intrigued you? Go ahead and make some and give it a try. It might be your new favorite hot chocolate recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Milk
  • 3 ounces, fluid Semisweet Chocolate, Chopped Into Small Pieces
  • 1 Tablespoon Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 2 drops Almond Extract
  • ⅛ teaspoons Cayenne Pepper
  • Whipped Cream And Extra Cinnamon, For Topping

Preparation

In a medium sauce pan combine the milk, chocolate, cocoa, sugar, cinnamon and almond extract. Simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until everything seems like it’s incorporated. Take it off the stove and add cayenne pepper. I think 1/8 teaspoon is the perfect amount for just the right bit of spice but if you are nervous, just do a simple pinch!

Top it with some whipped cream and sprinkle some extra cinnamon on top.
