Description

This take on the Fizz cocktail pairs Teeling’s Irish Whiskey with the aromatics of black tea.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE COCKTAIL:
  • 1-½ ounce, fluid Teeling’s Irish Whiskey
  • 1 ounce, fluid Lemon Juice
  • 1 ounce, fluid Black Tea Simple Syrup (Recipe Included)
  • ¾ ounces, fluid Egg White
  • 2 dashes Barrel Aged Orange Bitters
  • 3 ounces, fluid Soda Water
  • FOR THE BLACK TEA SIMPLE SYRUP:
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 package (Individual Size) Earl Gray Tea (Use Irish Breakfast Tea For A More "Irish" Cocktail!)
  • 1 cup Sugar

Preparation

Add all ingredients except soda water to a cocktail shaker without ice and “dry shake” to froth the egg white. Add ice and shake again.

Strain into a highball glass without ice and top with soda water.

For the black tea simply syrup:
Boil water and add tea bag. Let steep for 5 minutes, then discard tea bag. Add sugar and stir until it has dissolved. Cool before using.

Made this with Bourbon, because its what I keep around. I also skipped the egg this time because my eggs are kind old. It was still delicious.
