Description

Tangy, sweet, and refreshing. Worst of all: addictive.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cups Water
  • 1 pint Strawberries
  • 1 cup Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 4 cups Cold Water (to Dilute)
  • Ice And Strawberries For Garnish

Preparation

*Easier method: If you’re in a rush, use frozen lemonade (Minute Maid brand is the best) to make the lemonade and just add the strawberries.

Otherwise . . . Add the sugar and water to a saucepan and heat it to dissolve the sugar – do this without stirring. Once the sugar appears dissolved, then swirl to mix. Remove from heat once sugar crystals are completely dissolved (if you’re not sure, then let it simmer for another minute). Pour into a large pitcher.

Pulse the strawberries in the blender, leaving chunks. Add the lemon juice and strawberries to the large pitcher with the simple syrup. Dilute with 4 cups of cold water (or to taste).

Let the whole mixture sit in the fridge for several hours or overnight. You can serve it immediately, but trust me, it tastes a lot better after the strawberries are saturated in the mixture and the flavors have gotten happy together.

To serve, garnish cups with one whole strawberry and ice. Yum!

You may want to double, triple or even quadruple the recipe if you’re having a party, because this stuff will be gone before you can blink.

Enjoy!

*To make it more punch-like, substitute some club soda for half of the water.

I have some strawberries in my fridge that I need to use up & I think this would be the perfect solution. Sounds soooooo good on a hot day like we’re expecting.

This was simply delicious. I served it for Father’s Day yesterday, doubled the recipe and added some white wine in some of the adult’s glasses. A keeper for sure. Thank you for sharing!

This was amazing. I went the easy route and used frozen concentrate and it was still the hit of our party. Definately a keeper recipe

I love the idea of adding strawberries, plus this came out very pretty and tastes really good, thus the five stars. But it isn’t as tangy as I would like; next time I will add less sugar.

Delicious and easy. I don’t have a blender so I just mashed the strawberries with a potato masher. I also used a little less water; we like it on the tangy side.
