In a small pan over medium heat combine the milk, pumpkin puree, vanilla, salt and spices. Whisk constantly until smooth.
Stir until just simmering. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate shavings (reserve some for garnish) until melted. Pour into serving mugs.
Top each mug with a generous mound of whipped cream, a few shavings of chocolate, and a sprinkle of spices.
