Description

Peanut butter and dark chocolate hot cocoa topped with fresh whipped cream, roasted peanuts and peanut butter cups. A perfect, indulgent, seasonal treat!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Cream Or Half And Half, Divided
  • ⅓ cups Sugar, Divided
  • 3 cups Milk (any Kind Will Work!)
  • ⅓ cups Cocoa Powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 4 ounces, weight Dark Chocolate Bar, Chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ⅓ cups Creamy Peanut Butter Plus A Little Extra For Melting And Drizzling
  • Roasted Peanuts
  • Chocolate Sauce
  • Peanut Butter Cups, Chopped

Preparation

First make the whipped cream. Place 1 cup of the cream in an electric stand mixer with whisk attachment and whisk for 5-10 minutes on medium speed until thick and whipped. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar and whisk again until combined. Set aside.

Next, make the hot chocolate. Heat milk and remaining cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it just barely boils, then reduce the heat and simmer.

Combine remaining sugar, cocoa powder and salt in a small bowl. Add 3-4 tablespoons of the hot milk/cream to the cocoa powder mixture and mix to form a paste. Whisk the paste into the saucepan until completely dissolved and smooth.

Add the chopped chocolate into the saucepan and whisk until completely melted. Add the vanilla. Whisk in the peanut butter until completely smooth and combined.

Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, a drizzle of melted peanut butter, chocolate sauce, peanuts and peanut butter cups!
