Description

There was a Mexican restaurant that served the most delicious punch. Before they closed down, I got the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Lemon Juice
  • 2-½ quarts Tea, Brewed
  • 2-½ cups Pineapple Juice
  • 2-½ cups Orange Juice

Preparation

Place sugar in a 2-cup measuring cup and add enough boiling water to melt the sugar (approximately 1/2 to 3/4 cup water), or place in sugar in a saucepan, add the same amount of water, and bring to a simmer until sugar is melted.

In a punch bowl, mix all ingredients together with the dissolved sugar, stirring well. Serve over ice. You may garnish this with sliced oranges and lemons.

(Instead of the brewed tea, you may use 2 1/2 quarts of water with 3 tablespoons instant tea, if you prefer.)

Love it! I can’t believe someone posted this. I first tried this recipe a little over a year ago. I was pregnant and seriously craving some punch from El Matador. Too bad the place closed down years ago… I goggled on a whim and here it is! I tweak mine a bit when I make it. A little less sugar and lemon juice, a little more tea. But that’s just my preference. This stuff is the best!
