Description

Who loves chocolate covered strawberries? Raise your hand!! Who loves smoothies? Raise your other hand!! And reach for this delicious chocolate strawberry smoothie. Bananas are optional but they certainly add to the flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1-½ cup Frozen Strawberries
  • 2 Tablespoons Orange Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • ½ cups Vanilla Yogurt
  • ½ whole Banana, Sliced
  • ¼ cups Chocolate Chips
  • 1 teaspoon Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey (optional)

Preparation

Place your frozen strawberries, orange juice, sugar, yogurt and the banana into your blender or food processer. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes so that the strawberries can soften just a little bit.

Meanwhile, put the chocolate chips and milk into a microwave safe bowl and heat it for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between each heat interval, until the chocolate is creamy and smooth when stirred. This is chocolate heaven. DO NOT over heat the chocolate! That’s painful!

Blend the berries and the other ingredients in the blender/food processor until smooth. If you prefer, you could also add a drizzle of honey at this point. I have found that adding the honey while the blender is doing its thing, is best. Just turn it on a low speed, remove the little top that is made for just such purpose and slowly let the honey drizzle in!

Then turn off the blender, remove the top and add the chocolate heaven. Replace the top and mix until the chocolate is incorporated. Then stand back in amazement! Once you have regained your composure, pour into your favorite glass, find a comfy chair and enjoy!
