Description

Great cranberry flavor and color for festive holiday cocktails.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (12 Oz. Bag) Fresh Cranberries
  • 1-½ cup Water
  • 1-½ cup Sugar
  • 3 cups Vodka
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon

Preparation

Place cranberries in the freezer.

Make a simple syrup by combining water and sugar in small sauce pan over low heat. Heat and stir until all of the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool.

Place frozen cranberries in a food processor and pulse until berries are well chopped. Place chopped cranberries in a 1- or 2-gallon glass jar. Pour your simple syrup over the berries.

Pour vodka over berries. Add cinnamon if desired. Place the lid tightly on the jar and shake well.

Set the jar in a cool dark place, shaking ocasionally over the next three to four weeks. Strain liqueur through cheesecloth and place in clean glass bottles. Discard chopped cranberries.

Enjoy on the rocks, in margaritas, or with a lemon lime soda mixer.

This was sooo good. Although it have not completed the waiting time I could not resist a little sip or two or three, okay so it’s already gone–but I have made some more and I am going to try to let it set the whole recommended waiting time. Thanks for the fun recipe.

I have a couple of bottles of cheap vodka sitting around that this is perfect for. I think that I might add some orange zest to the mix. Thanks for a great idea
