Description

With a boost of antioxidants and super foods, this decadent smoothie bowl almost seems like dessert—but it’s healthy for you! Cacao, coconut and almond milk create the base for this delicious treat that can be enjoyed for breakfast, as a midday snack, or dessert!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Almond Milk
  • 1 cup Fresh Coconut Meat (or 13 1/2 Oz. Chilled Coconut Milk)
  • 2  Frozen Bananas
  • 2  Soaked Dates Plus 1 Tablespoon Soaking Liquid
  • 4 Tablespoons Almond Butter
  • 3 Tablespoons Raw Cacao Powder (Not Cocoa Powder)
  • 1 Tablespoon Maca Root (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Lucuma (optional)
  • ½ teaspoons Spirulina (optional)

Preparation

Combine all ingredients into a blender or food processor. Blitz, top and eat!

Notes:
1. Spirulina, maca and lucuma can be found at any natural food stores and online. These super foods are optional but really add to the nutritional punch behind this recipe. See related blog post for more information.
2. For toppings, I used cacao nibs, dehydrated berries, desiccated coconut, and pumpkin seeds.
