Description

A refreshing cocktail made with fresh strawberries and limes.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cups Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 1 cup Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1 cup Fresh Strawberries, Roughly Chopped
  • 4 ounces, fluid Blanco Tequila
  • 1 ounce, fluid Grand Marnier
  • 1 cup Ice
  • 1 whole Lime, Sliced Into Wedges

Preparation

Combine the water, sugar and mint leaves in a small sauce pan. Place on the stove over medium high heat and bring to a rolling boil until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let sit for 20 minutes so the mint can infuse.

Strain the mint mixture into a pitcher and discard mint leaves. Add the freshly squeezed lime juice and strawberries and blend with an immersion blender. Strain out any pulpy remains.

Add the Blanco Tequila, a splash of Grand Marnier and stir. Add more Grand Marnier to sweeten if desired. Top with ice, lime wedges and serve.

I really wanted to like this, but I just found it to have too many flavors going on. It was kind of a confusing mix between a mojito and a strawberry margarita…nothing very limeadey about it. I’ll try it again, but will definitely be skipping the mint!
