The Pickle: The Bloody Caesar Reinvented.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE DRINK:
  • 1 whole Lemon, Halved
  • 2 Tablespoons Pickle Brine
  • 2 teaspoons A1 Steak Sauce
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Fresh Grated Horseradish
  • ¼ cups Fresh Lemon Thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • Ice
  • 2 cups Vodka
  • 4 cups Clamato Juice
  • 4 whole Pickled Carrots
  • 4 whole Pickled Green Beans
  • FOR THE RIM OF THE GLASS:
  • ½ whole Lemon
  • 2 teaspoons Celery Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Chili Powder
  • FOR GARNISH:
  • 4  Pickle Wedges
  • Pickled Vegetables
  • 8 sprigs Fresh Thyme

Preparation

1. Squeeze lemon halves into a large pitcher. Add pickle brine, A1 sauce, salt and pepper, horseradish, thyme, cayenne pepper and smoked paprika. Stir until combined.
2. Add in ice, vodka and Clamato juice and stir to mix.
3. Prepare the glasses. Rub the cut lemon half around the outside edges of the cocktail glasses. Mix celery salt, ground black pepper and chili powder on a plate and roll the outside of the glass around the mixture for the rim. (The rim mixture is not supposed to be in your cocktail, just on the outside of the rim.)
4. Fill the glasses with ice and pour the drink over top. Garnish with a pickle wedge, pickled vegetables and a couple sprigs of fresh thyme.

My father-in-law takes Clamato with him to restaurants to be assured they can make him a Bloody Caesar!! I will give this version a try (with the beef jerky on the side for ME!!)

We enjoy something very similar to this. It’s Wicked in a good way. To take it up even another notch, add a big stick of beef jerky to your selection of garnishes…AWESOME!
