Description

The only margarita recipe you need to keep the tequila flowing this Labor Day Weekend: Blackberry Margaritas, with a secret ingredient that will have your guests asking for seconds.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE BLACKBERRY SYRUP:
  • 2 cups Blackberries, Fresh Or Frozen
  • 1  Lime, Juiced
  • ⅔ cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • FOR THE COCKTAIL:
  • 10 ounces, fluid Silver Tequila
  • 8 ounces, fluid Agavero Orange
  • 8 ounces, fluid Lime Juice
  • Crushed Ice For Serving
  • Extra Lime Wedges For Serving
  • FOR RIMMING THE GLASS:
  • 1 Tablespoon Coarse Sea Salt
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • 2  Limes, Zested

Preparation

For the blackberry syrup:
Place blackberries and lime juice in a sauce pan over low heat. Heat until berries become soft and begin to burst. Transfer mixture to a blender and puree until smooth.

Add pureed blackberries back to saucepan, along with sugar and water. Bring to a simmer. Simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from heat and bring to room temperature.

For the cocktail:
In a large pitcher, mix cooled blackberry syrup, tequila, Agavero Orange, and lime juice. Stir to combine.

In a shallow bowl, combine salt, sugar, and lime zest. Rim each glass with a lime wedge and dip into salt-sugar mixture.

Fill cups with crushed ice. Pour drink over ice and serve with extra lime wedges.
