Description

They’re made with whole wheat! So, you know, have a few.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Butter, At Room Temperature
  • ¾ cups White Sugar
  • ¾ cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2-½ cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

Mix together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Add flour and baking soda and mix just until incorporated; don’t overmix. Finally, add chocolate chips (and anything else you want to add — nuts, M&Ms, other chips, etc.).

I refrigerated the dough maybe 10 minutes before putting them on an ungreased cookie sheet (I used about 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie and they were pretty large) and might actually try doing it for longer next time since they ended up a little flat.

Bake 8-10 minutes and let cool before removing from the cookie sheet.

I just made these cookies and my dough turned out really dry and crumbly so I had to use my hands to ball’em up so the cookies came out a bit round and not at all flat; which I actually preferred. Still yummy though. But, was the dough suppose to be that dry and crumbly? It was just like making a crumb topping for pie or muffins. Weird.

Wouldn’ve been all five gloves but the dough turned out dry. Still delicious though!
