Description

These are quick and easy to make – on the stove top – before they go into the oven for a final bake.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE BLONDIES:
  • ⅓ cups Sugar
  • 1 cup White Chocolate Chips
  • ½ cups Butter
  • 1-¼ cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Pitted And Chopped Fresh Cherries
  • FOR THE DRIZZLE:
  • ½ cups White Chocolate Chips
  • 1 teaspoon Vegetable Oil

Preparation

Place the sugar, chocolate chips and butter into a saucepan and heat over very low heat (or use a double boiler) until the sugar and chocolate have melted. Throw the flour and salt into the melted mixture. Blend well. Remove from the heat.

Blend the eggs and vanilla extract together. Pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture and blend well.

Pour the mixture into a 9×13-inch baking pan, lined with parchment paper (for easy removal) and top with the chopped cherry pieces.

Bake in a 350F oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan comes out clean.

In the microwave, melt half a cup of white chocolate chips with a teaspoon of vegetable oil (melt on 30 second increments, stirring in between and continuing for additional 30 second increments, just until melted) and drizzle over the dessert.

Allow to cool in pan for about 10 minutes before cutting into bars.

Uhhh….Yum! These sound excellent! I’m going to try them with sweet dried cherries, but I may incorporate them into the dough instead of placing them on top of the batter (I would be afraid they would dry out too much if I left them on top). I will let you know how they turn out.

I commented earlier that I would try them with dried sweet cherries because fresh cherry season was over in my area. Well, what a huge success!!! They are so delicious. I folded the dried cherries into the batter instead of sprinkling them on top because I wasn’t sure if they would sink into the batter, and I didn’t want them to get overdone and crunchy, although now that I’ve made them, I don’t think that would happen. I also think dried cranberries, blueberries, or sour cherries would also be fantastic. Thank you so much for the easy and awesome recipe!

These were a hit! Everyone at my Bible study was asking for the recipe and for me to make them again. I didn’t know what to expect when I made them, so I was really pleased with how good they turned out. Our store was out of cherries and I made them with blueberries this time, so I’m looking forward to trying it with cherries too.
