Description

Inspired by the Whatchamacallit candy bar, these tasty treats have a peanut butter crispy rice cereal base, with layers of creamy caramel and chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • ¼ cups Butter, Melted
  • 1-½ cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 cups Crispy Rice Cereal (use Gluten-free, If Desired)
  • 24  Caramel Squares, Unwrapped (like Kraft)
  • 1 Tablespoon Milk Or Cream
  • 7 ounces, weight Chocolate Candiquik Or Chocolate Chips

Preparation

1. Stir peanut butter and butter together in a large bowl until smooth.
2. Mix in powdered sugar until well combined. Mixture will be lumpy.
3. Gently fold in cereal until incorporated. Press and pack mixture into an 8×8 pan.
4. In a saucepan over low heat, continuously stir together milk and caramel squares until smooth. Pour over peanut butter cereal mixture until even.
5. Melt Candiquik according to package instructions then pour it over the caramel and gently smooth the top. Mixture will be set in 1-2 hours.
6. Cut into squares and serve.

These were good, only problem was the caramel/candy layer came apart from the peanut butter layer when cutting.
