Description

Vegan Chocolate Banana Cake. Being health conscious never tasted so good!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Pastry Flour (you Can Substitute Whole Wheat)
  • 1-⅓ cup Granulated Sugar
  • ⅔ cups Cocoa Powder
  • 1-½ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ¼ cups Applesauce (substituted For Canola Oil)
  • 1-½ cup Hot Water
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 whole Ripe Bananas

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mix dry ingredients and set aside.
3. Mash 2 bananas and add enough water to create one cup of mixture.
4. To the dry ingredients, add applesauce, hot water, and vanilla extract. Mix well. Add the banana mixture.
5. Bake for 45-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Note: frosting is optional. The photo shows the cake with homemade chocolate cream cheese frosting.

Delicious! The cake is very moist and easy to make. It has great flavor and was a hit all around.

loved it! i’ve made this a few times & been really pleased. i used whole wheat flour without any problems. i soaked it once in homemade coffee liquor & topped with vegan chocolate frosting. YUM! i will definitely keep using this recipe, it’s the perfect way to use up brown bananas.
