It starts with a crunch and then melts in your mouth in all its buttery, sugary glory. It’s shortbread, and you’ll love it!
Spread on some tiramisu mascarpone for a truly decadent experience.
1. Cream butter and sugar together, then mix in the flour.
2. Work the dough with your hands until well mixed.
3. Roll with a rolling pin or smush the dough with your hands into about 1/2 inch thickness, then cut out cookie shapes.
4. Optional step: you can prick the cookies all over with the tines of a fork to make a pretty design.
5. Bake at 350F for 20 minutes on an ungreased baking sheet, until they’re getting a little golden (but barely!). Remove immediately to a cooling rack.
6. Optional: slather with tiramisu mascarpone before serving.
