An easy dessert that is great with a big bowl of ice cream!
1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
2. In a large bowl, combine the flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter until crumbly. Press into an ungreased 13×9-inch baking pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove pan from the oven and allow the crust to cool slightly.
3. In a small bowl beat egg, brown sugar, vanilla, and baking powder until blended. Stir in coconut and pecans. Spread this mixture over the crust and top with chocolate chips. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove pan from the oven and set it on a wire rack. Cut into bars once cooled.
