Description

These cookies are so good, they can take you right off the naughty list and onto the nice! Even Santa can’t resist their ooey, gooey deliciousness.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter, Softened To Room Temperature
  • 1 cup White Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar, Packed
  • 2 whole Large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract (or 1 Teaspoon Vanilla And 1 Teaspoon Almond)
  • 3 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 2 teaspoons Hot Water
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 2 cups Semi-sweet Chips (use A Combination Of Chunks, Morsels, And Mini)
  • 1 cup Finely Chopped Walnuts
  • ½ teaspoons Cream Of Tartar (optional)

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 F.

In the large bowl of your stand mixer using the paddle attachment cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.

Put the hot water into a small cup or bowl. Add the baking soda into the hot water and stir until the baking soda is dissolved. Then add this mixture into the batter along with the salt. Combine completely.

Stir in (by hand) the flour and cream of tartar. Then mix in the chocolate chips and walnuts.

Drop the dough by heaping tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets leaving at least an inch between each. Bake 8-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned. Cool 2 minutes on the cookie sheet, then transfer to cooling racks.
